..:: BlueShells ::.. Setting PsyBnc

This tutorial will explain how to configure mIRC for use with a psyBNC.

Find more information on mIRC on www.mirc.com

and for psyBNC on www.psybnc.info.

Add your bouncer to mIRC server list

IP address - the IP address of your psybnc bouncer.

Port - the port, where the psyBNC listens.

Username - your username/login/ident for the bouncer.

Open your mirc then go to your option by typing (alt + o).

Now, Click on Connect to server

Important Command

/bvhost Change your vhost!

/addserver irc.dal.net:6667 Add hostname:port to your psyBNC server list

/delserver 1 Delete entry 1 from your psyBNC server list

/listservers List your psyBNC servers

/jump Jump to next server in your psyBNC serverlist

/setaway Change your away message

/setleavemsg Change your quit message

/bconnect Connect bouncer to IRC server

/bquit Disconnect bouncer from IRC server

/leavequit 1 If you set /leavequit to 1, the bouncer will part all channels when you quit!

Tips & Tricks

If you have problems logging into your bouncer ...

Check the identd and email address settings in your mIRC! Both must match your psyBNC username.

psyBNC says: "Cannot create listening port .. aborting"

If you have a shell and setup your own psyBNC, and see this error message, try to use a different listening port (not the default 31337!). Also, use a vhost IP as the listening IP, not the default ("*").

The setting in psybnc.conf should, for example, look like:

PSYBNC.SYSTEM.PORT1=12121

PSYBNC.SYSTEM.HOST1=*

I tried everything but my psy still doesn't connect to IRC!

Make sure you add correct irc server and correct irc port, and check the vhost you have added (make sure you put the coorect vhost, because blueshells have 2 server).

You can see a list of valid BlueShells vhosts at http://Blueshells.biz/vhosts.html

Now, check your mIRC Identd options.

Make sure that the User ID field matches your bouncer username (= login, ident)!

Now, check your mIRC servers options.

Make sure that the Email Address field matches your bouncer username (= login, ident).

For example, if your bouncer username is Blues, then your email address setting should be something like Blues@somesite.com.

Frist, you MUST know, what is your server! Chelsea or Lazio :)

Then, you MUST know, port of your sevrer

Then, You MUST Choose One Vhsost or IP From Server [ If your server is Chelsea, make sure your Vhosts is from Chelsea Server, If Your server is Lazio, make sure your Vhosts or IP is from Lazio Server also! ok? :) ]

Then.... Hmmmm.... WAIT!!!

from example, u have :

Password : Blues1234

How to Connect?

Like This :

If your server is Chelsea : /s chelsea.blueshells.biz 12121
If your server is Lazio : /s Lazio.Blueshells.biz 12121

note : change 12121 to your port!

Then, you will see :

--psyBNC- Your IRC Client did not support a password. Please type /QUOTE PASS yourpassword to connect.

ok, then :

/pass blues1234

note : change blues1234 to Your Password!! :)

ok, now, you are connected to bouncer, but, not connected to dalnet yet,

/bvhost your.vhost.please

note : change your.vhost.please to Your Vhost!! the vhost is depand of your server

you will see :

<-psyBNC> VHOST changed to 'your.vhost.please'.

then,:

/addserver irc.dal.net:6667
